There are two different ways that the extra pieces can be inserted into your head. They can be inserted by placing individual strands one piece at a time into your present mane. Generally, glue and other chemicals have to be used in order for the pieces to set down on your head like you want them to. The only problem with undergoing this type of style is once the individual pieces are taken out of your existing mane, they could seriously damage the hairs that they were stuck to.
One of the most common ways for stylists to insert these strands into a clients mane is by doing it in a weft fashion. The term weft, refers to a stylist braiding up the existing mane of a client, and slowly sewing or braiding the new strands directly into the clients hairs.
A stylist will actually braid the fake strands into your mane. The stylist will first have to create a series of braids on top of their clients head and then they can sew or braid the new strands into the braids that they have formed.
When it comes to purchasing hair extensions, it is important to remember that cheaper is not always better. Human hairs are actually one of the most expensive pieces to purchase, however they will not give their adorner's a synthetic appearance when they are applied as opposed to the synthetic versions.
