1. Breath
2. Sound
3. Confidence
4. Emotion

Breath:
If you don't have regular breath, your delivery will reflect depthless and won't have the power to reinforce your performance. Take a deep exhalation, not only must you see your stomach expand but you should also notice the bottom your rib cage expand too. Be careful not to observe short breaths that load your upper chest.
Practice exhaling; the same way the air goes in, the air goes out. It should sound the same in both directions. The air is after all what the song will ride on. Without a consistent breath of air in and a consistent breath of air out your results will be in conflict.

Sound:
In your times of rehearse you may acknowledge that your voice can make many assorted sounds. All sounds are good sound, depending how they're used. But, finding our base sound, the sound you frequently go to will take some chore. A few tips in establishing your groundwork:
1. Head straight
2. Relax your jaw
3. Exhale and make an 'ah' sound
You should notice the sound resonating somewhere between your chin and your eyes, but this sound should be coming from the front part of your head/face, this is called the mask. If you notice the sound coming from otherwise locations you're going to want to inspect where they are comming from and try and move them to the mask area.
Practice inserting sound into your air flow. Breathe in, and then breathe out. On your exhale insert sound without changing your airflow, and then remove the sound from the air, without changing the flow. Practice insertion and remove of sound as well as starting sound with air.

Confidence:
Your belief in your self is probably more imperative than your exact ability to sing. No matter how good or how bad you are, if you don't sell it to the ears of the audience; they won't hear it. If you are not confident in your ability you will notice different stressors in your display. These stressors may keep you from breathing correctly, confine your range, affect your sound or many other symptoms. Learn to be happy with you. You can continually be better, but right now you are the best you can be.

Emotion:
Another item that is absolute of ability is emotion. If you feel it, your listeners will feel it to. You can be the most technical singer out there, but if you're not feeling the performance it can come across as uninteresting and boring. If you think back in your music listening there were numerous singers that did not have impressive technical ability, but they had heart. Adding a dash bit of emotion to what your doing will sell your performance a long way. Each person has their particular way of connecting, but something you could try is to imagine, what the words mean to you, fantasize how they make you feel. Record it both ways with and without emotional preparation and see if you can hear a difference.
