Revenge is one word for the aspiration to get even and it is an act of reciprocating another individual's actions negatively for getting ashamed or hurt. Sometimes revenge is just done out of one's wish to make another person feel disgrace in the same as he made one feel it. Some people get revenged at even without knowing that they have done something wrong to others.
The main reason for individuals seeking revenge is that they feel indignant about having to suffer from embarrassment or humiliation and they want to rise up and do something to those who have done these to him to gratify their pride. This kind of sensation is almost instinctive to a lot of people especially when they a physical or emotional aspect of them is being oppressed.
One of this motives is that a person feels attacked and that he is suffering unfairly by having lost or gotten injured. This causes the person to feel mixed emotions such as shame, anger, hate, or envy. This is caused by situations that range from an unconscious and delicate gesture of action or tactless words that were spoken to a deliberate and open physical attack or reprimand.
The individual may also feel sorry for his present disposition or for fellows who are in similar or lower dispositions and thus he tends to hold it against the one with the better disposition especially when this was acquired in foul means or the other individual is not deserving of the better disposition.
Some people also become very firm when it comes to defending honor and so when someone has done enough to trample honor, whether this honor is of the person themselves, or of his friends or of his organization or group, he would do whatever it takes just to defend this honor and bring back good name and dignity.
How people get revenge can vary from one person to another. There is a truly long list of ways on how to get revenge but the common thing among these ways is that these ways are just the means to an end which is gratifying the desire to bring back lost pride, honor, or bruised self-image.
somebody can get revenge by letting another individual experience or feel the same way just as he made the individual feel and experience in order to teach the other individual a lesson. somebody can also get revenge by punishing another individual for the things that he has done to make him learn his lesson. Letting another person feel embarrassed especially for making up stories is also another way to get revenge by telling another side of the story or the actual story along with other means to attest to the truthfulness and credibility of it.
Forgiving the other person and live life as it is after losing pride or getting hurt is still the most effective way of getting revenge though. The reason for this is that one makes other people see somebody as someone who can stand up to his own even when he is stomped down and thus he is also building up a good image of themselves.
