Search Through Death Records
Consider the possibility that the person you're looking for may have already kicked the bucket. You can either hunt through death indexes or find a grave online.
DeathIndexes contains a wide database of death records organized by city and state. They offer death certificate indexes, obituary listings, burial records and even death notices.
You can also try hunting for graves through individual cemetery webpages. To speed up your look, try visiting FindAGrave and Interment.net, which are webpages that contain cemetery listings.
Go Job Hunting
If you know where someone is employed, you can obtain his contact information by tracking him down through his company or his industry. Jobster contains job listings by name and by industry. You can go through the profiles of people who have added their information on that website in hopes of landing jobs.
ZoomInfo is a similar website. What's more interesting about ZoomInfo is that it lists down all affiliations a person has. Even if the person you are looking for no longer works for a certain company, you can still find his records there through ZoomInfo.
Basic Google Hunt and Google CSE
In the field of people hunting, it's hard to exclude the big "G" from the picture. Most social networking sites and blogs are indexed through Google, after all.
If you happen to know the identity's first and last name, you can look for any web pages that mention that name through Google. All you have to do is enter the first and last name enclosed in quotes on the Google search field. For instance, if you're looking for someone named Susan Richards, just enter "Susan Richards" (with quotes) into Google.
Custom Google search engines should help speed things up for you as well as narrow down your search. Just go to Google CSE and click the "Create A Custom Search Engine" button. This will take you to a page which will let you define your search by specifying websites your search engine will crawl through first. On this field, enter the social networking and public records websites mentioned in the previous paragraphs. You can add more sites to this list later too. Once you're done creating your very own search engine, you can use it to look for other people in the future.
