How to take advantage of Twitter as a marketing tool

We all know how important followers are on twitter but the hard thing to do is to be able to get followers that are actually interested in what you say, what you sell and what you can offer them. There isn't much point from a selling point of view getting followers interested in cats when you sell dog collars! You see my point. What we need to do is to get targeted followers interested in dogs as I want to sell them my doggie products.
So we have established that one important thing we need by using Twitter is targeted followers. Wouldn't it be great to get twitter followers if you could find them by choosing a keyword like "dog toys" and then filtering the results like search by keyword, search by bio, search by location etc.? This would really help us to get some perfect targeted followers especially if you could get a list of these tweeters and automatically follow them without doing anything, all automated!
I think you can see the potential here to use Twitter as a marketing tool. You just need the program to interact with it that doesn't use its API so your account won't get banned. Well keep reading I'm coming to that.
Get away from your computer!
You know how it is, perhaps using a program like Tweet Deck sat in front of the computer for hours on end tweeting away trying to get traffic to your site, it is a bore but there is a better way. What would you say if I told you you could set up a list of 20 tweets and automatically tweet them throughout the day? Sounds good, well it is and not only does it really help to drive traffic to your website but allows you to concentrate on other things. I mean, you have a list of targeted followers that can easily reach one thousand in a week, then you can tweet to these targeted followers as well as the general timeline and people searching for specific keywords throughout the whole day!
Tweet to individual users
Yes, simple as that, you can search for a user by a keyword or keyword phrase and get a list of users then tweet them all individually about your product, article, blog post anything. Even better you can set up an auto reply so if they tweet you back you don't have to reply to them if you don't want to. This is powerful marketing and lots of people market this way, well the successful ones anyway. If you choose to market this way I don't see any way that you cannot use twitter as a successful marketing tool.
A few other things that could be useful
How good would it be from a marketing perspective if you could market your product by using the above methods but also across multiple accounts at the same time? Interested? Well you can and that has just increased the marketing potential exponentially.
There are lots of ways to get visitors to your website but this is the best I have come across.
